Naira Zohrabyan Loses Shoe at Opera Square, Sustains Injury
There was no directed violence against me. This was stated by Naira Zohrabyan, the Chair of the Human Rights Protection Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia, in an interview with Aysor.am.
“During the clashes, I stood between the two sides to prevent a confrontation. I was pushed under the current and fell down, there was nothing directed against me. Moreover, the police told me to leave because they could no longer ensure my safety. At this moment, I have stepped out because my foot is slightly injured,” Zohrabyan mentioned in her conversation with the media.
The deputy noted that she lost her shoe in the tense situation, but it has since been found.
She emphasized that the current situation is quite tense and, as the head of the Human Rights Committee, she continues to remain there to address two issues: to exclude violence and to resolve problems through dialogue.
