Cars Will Increase in Price by 4-4.5 Times: Mikayel Melkumyan

Today, a discussion was held in the National Assembly regarding the proposed amendments to the law on public service in Armenia.

Gagik Tsarukyan faction MP Mikayel Melkumyan recalled that starting January 1, the EAEU customs duties will come into force, which, according to the deputy, will result in cars becoming 4-4.5 times more expensive. He noted that as a result, Armenia is expected to lose about 50 million dollars.

Melkumyan urged the government to resume negotiations within the Eurasian Economic Commission to postpone the EAEU customs duty payments, allowing Armenians to import cars from abroad at the same low tariffs.
