VIDEO: 36-Year-Old Shows How He Killed His Father

On March 11, under the directive of the head of the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Justice Major Mher Vardanyan, an investigative experiment took place at house number 14 on 8th Street in Jrvazh village.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, during the investigative experiment, the 64-year-old Melkon Cholakhyan, who is suspected of murder, was shown by his son, 36-year-old Gevorg Cholakhyan, on a mannequin how and under what circumstances he inflicted knife wounds on his father, who died on the spot.

As earlier reported by the photojournalist from the crime scene, a particularly brutal murder occurred in Kotayk province on March 10. At around 1:50 PM, the Abovyan Police Department received a report that there was a corpse in house number 14 on 8th Street in Jrvazh village.

Police and investigators found the body of the owner of the house, 64-year-old Melkon Cholakhyan, in the bedroom of the residence. According to the initial conclusion of the forensic expert, there were multiple wounds on the body from a sharp cutting-piercing object.

Officers from the Kotayk Division and the Garni Division of the Police detained the victim's son, 36-year-old Gevorg Cholakhyan, at the crime scene, suspecting him of committing the murder as he was exiting the house.

A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident.

Next to the body, in the oven, the police discovered two knives, one of which was broken at the handle and had blood-like traces on it. The investigator confiscated the knives.
