Investigation in Turkey: Bus Driver Spread Newspaper with Erdogan's Picture on Floor

An investigation has been launched in Turkey against a bus driver who spread a newspaper on the steps of the bus to maintain cleanliness. The issue arose because the newspaper featured a picture of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to ermenihaber.am, a passenger felt uncomfortable after seeing Erdoğan's picture displayed prominently on the newspaper on the Ankara-Burdur bus steps and decided to turn it over. However, after the bus stop, the passenger noticed that the newspaper had been flipped back over again, revealing Erdoğan's image on the floor.

Upon reaching Burdur, the passenger reported the driver to the police. The driver was detained and questioned on suspicion of "insulting the President."

The driver stated in his testimony that he had placed the newspaper on the steps after cleaning the bus, and an unknown individual had subsequently thrown it down, after which he had returned it to its original position. He asserted that he had no intention of insulting the president. Following the interrogation, he was released.
