Eduard Babayan's Case Goes to Court

The case of Eduard Babayan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly and the former head of Gagik Tsarukyan’s security team, has been forwarded to court with an indictment. The case has been assigned to Judge Mesrop Makyan.

Babayan's defense attorney, Armen Melkonyan, stated in an interview with "Hraparak" that the date for the first court session is not yet known.

He refrained from providing an assessment of the pre-trial investigation but emphasized, "My client has not committed any crime." He also noted that there was no confrontation during the investigation with the harmed party, Vyacheslav Harutyunov.

It is recalled that Eduard Babayan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia faction, is charged with intentionally causing serious harm to the health of 50-year-old Vyacheslav Harutyunov. The incident occurred on July 2, 2018. On August 21, Eduard Babayan was released from custody on a 20 million dram bail.
