Details of the Brutal Murder in Tavush
The Tavush regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 64-year-old man as a result of urgent investigative actions. One individual has been arrested.
According to the Investigative Committee, preliminary information indicates that on March 5, 2019, the person allegedly committing the crime struck another individual on the right temple area of his head with a blunt object in a house located on Teryan Street in Berd, intending to take the victim's life. The inflicted injuries resulted in the victim's immediate death.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Berd investigative department under part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
An investigative group has been formed, and an investigative plan has been developed. A search of the crime scene was conducted, during which blood-like traces were found, and samples were collected. The victim's clothing, which he was wearing at the time of the incident and which had blood-like traces on it, was seized. Additionally, a hammer and a wooden stick, serving as the instruments of the crime, were confiscated from the crime scene.
As a result of immediate investigative and operational-search actions, several circumstances of the murder have been clarified, including the motive and the identity of the alleged perpetrator, who is a resident of Tavush region born in 1986. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murdering the 64-year-old man and has been questioned about the incident.
For the purpose of clarifying essential circumstances in the criminal case, forensic medical, forensic, forensic biological, and forensic trace examinations have been appointed.
