Georgian President Arrives in Armenia. Will She Revoke Her Statement on 'Occupation'?

According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili will visit Armenia on March 13-14. The visit is official, lasting two days, with a packed agenda including a traditional visit to Tsitsernakaberd and meetings with the country's President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Catholicos.

Zourabichvili's first regional visit was to Azerbaijan, and now parity is being maintained. However, we were informed that the invitation for the visit was sent by Armen Sarkisyan. Notably, during her time in Azerbaijan, Zourabichvili made an interesting statement regarding the similar fate of the two countries, mentioning 'occupation' and territorial integrity.

We inquired whether this could be revised in Armenia. 'There will certainly be discussions on many topics. In any case, let us not forget that the current President of Georgia has also been a Foreign Minister, possessing a strong command of diplomatic nuances,' we were told.

More details can be found in today’s edition of the newspaper.
