Updated: Road Conditions This Morning

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 09:00 on March 5, there are closed and difficult road conditions in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks with trailers and difficult for other vehicles.

The roads from Sotk to Karvachar (for trucks), Berd to Jambarak, and Goris to Sisian are difficult to pass.

In the Aragatsotn region, there is ice on the local roads between Chknagh-Zoraglukh, Araji-Vardenut, Kuchak-Tsaghkashen, as well as in the Aragats region and in the Shirak region, particularly in the Ashotsk community.

In the Syunik region, there is fog in the area called "Meghru Mount" and at the "Chaini" turns.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

According to information from the Road Department of Georgia's Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Construction Works Ongoing

Construction works are underway on the road from Vanadzor to Alaverdi from the 39th km to Bagratashen.

The following alternative routes for vehicular traffic have been established:

For intra-community traffic to the towns of Alaverdi, Vanadzor, and nearby villages, vehicles should use the following route:

• Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aygehart-Odzun-Alaverdi via the Georgian border section.

Since June 30, 2018, until March 5 of this year, construction works have been conducted on the 139th km of the Yerevan-Meghri road, resulting in a section of approximately 200 meters being closed one way.
