Emergency Situations Ministry Warns of Closed and Difficult Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of March 4, at 00:00, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass and the Berd-Chambarak highways are closed.

The Sotk-Karmiraghj, Goris-Sisian (blizzard conditions), Artick-Alagyaz highways, and the Spitak twists are difficult to pass (for heavy vehicles).

In the Aragatsotn province, there are patches of black ice on the inter-community roads of Chknaq-Dzoraglukh, Arai-Vardenut, Kuchak-Tzaghkashen, and the regions of Aragats, as well as in the Shirak province's Ashotsk region.

Snow is falling in the high-altitude areas of Vayots Dzor province and in the Syunik region along the Sisian-Zanger section.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.

According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure's Road Department, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed for heavy vehicles.
