Metal Plastic Stall Disassembled from Sanahin Cloister
The metal plastic stall has been disassembled from the cloister of the Sanahin Monastery complex. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Tigran Galstyan, on his Facebook page.
Earlier, Yasha Solomonian had shared a photo on his FB page, indicating that a new booth had been installed in the cloister of the Church of the Holy Savior within the Sanahin Monastery complex. The newly appointed priest’s claims that the booth is temporary and has been installed without causing damage to the church did not quell the unrest.
It is worth noting that the Sanahin Monastery complex is located in the Sanahin neighborhood of Alaverdi city in the Lori province, on the elevated terrace on the right bank of the Debed River. The first church of the complex, the Church of the Holy Mother of God, was built in the 30s-40s of the 10th century.
Together with the Haghpat Monastery, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
