Current Situation on the Roads: Updated

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 24 at 20:00, there are impassable roads in the Republic of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers.

In the Aparan region of the Aragatsotn province, there is some black ice in places.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

According to information from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Republic of North Ossetia indicates that there are accumulated vehicles on the Russian side.

Construction Work Underway

Construction work is taking place on the section of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road from the 39th km to Bagratashen.

Alternative routes for transportation have been established:

Domestic transportation to the cities of Alaverdi, Vanadzor, and nearby settlements can be carried out via the following paths:

1. Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aygehart-Odzun-Alaverdi through the border road to Georgia.

Since June 30, 2018, up to February 24 of this year, construction work has been conducted on the 139th km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, causing approximately 200 meters of the section to be closed off in one direction.
