Artak Zeynalyan Responds to Lawyer Hayk Alumyans Statement
The Minister of Justice, Artak Zeynalyan, has addressed the statement made by lawyer Hayk Alumyan on his Facebook page, which claimed that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed the Government's representative to lose in the cases related to March 1st at the ECHR.
"Yesterday, during a brief interview with journalists, I referred to lawyer Hayk Alumyans’ statement, which is not in line with reality, that the Prime Minister instructed the Government's representative to lose in the March 1st cases at the ECHR.
Once again, I declare that the vast majority of the March 1st cases have been concluded in correspondence with the Government of the Republic of Armenia, and these cases were presented at the ECHR by the former representative of the Armenian Government, Gevorg Kostanyan. The positions of the Armenian Government have been clearly articulated, and our Government has absolutely not intervened, despite the fact that during the hearings in the previous National Assembly, we opposed this and presented counterarguments.
However, officially, during the current Government's activities, we have not intervened at all, although we are authorized to carry out unilateral statements or proposals for reconciliation on behalf of the Armenian Government. We are in favor of revealing the truth, and we want the opposition that was presented at the time to be evaluated by an impartial court," the Minister wrote.
