Pashinyan is either deluded or misleading the people, Edward Sharmazanov

The spokesperson for the Republican Party of Armenia and former MP Edward Sharmazanov wrote on his Facebook page:

“Pashinyan is either deluded or he is misleading the people. In both cases, he must resign. February 20, 1988, is inscribed in golden letters in the pages of the modern history of the Armenian people.

On that day, the Council of People’s Deputies of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast adopted a decision to join the Motherland. On the same day, a massive rally in Yerevan took place in support of the just decision of the Artsakh Armenians. It has been exactly 31 years since that day, and the Artsakh issue remains one of the most important issues on our public and political agenda.

Neither Nikol nor his government, nor his political godfather Ter-Petrosyan, seem to wish to notice that the fate of our homeland depends on a favorable resolution of this issue, instead promoting false agendas. The populist government of Armenia has no serious strategy regarding the Artsakh issue. Moreover, the ascent in Dushanbe and the unplanned, random meeting in Davos prove this. Nikol’s government is unable to correctly assess the situation. Judge for yourselves.

The US Ambassador Mills speaks openly about the concept of land for peace, while Nikol dismisses it as the outgoing ambassador’s statement. Bolton addresses the Armenian public in Yerevan, urging them to abandon their historical stereotypes, and Nikol remains silent. Aliyev continually threatens Artsakh and Armenia, while Nikol considers him a polite and normal person, just as Ter-Petrosyan does. As if that were not enough, the concealment of the murder of a soldier during the New Year’s period is followed by the cynicism of official sources, which have been operating in a conceal-and-not-report fashion over the last 10 months. Either Pashinyan is deluded himself or he is deceiving the people. In either case, it becomes essential for him to be removed from the highest state position.

P.S. A broad political alliance based on the national values system has no alternative. Populism must have no place in power.”
