Restart Foundation Receives $20,000 Grant from Soros Foundation

The Soros Foundation has transferred $20,000 to the Restart Educational Foundation, as reported by David Apoyan, the President of the Student Council of Yerevan State University (YSU) on his Facebook page.

"Dear students, do you remember the young individuals who clung to the Student Council's budget under the guise of protecting student interests? Do you recall when we spoke about their dubious financial sources and their connections to the Soros Foundation?

Accordingly, the website of the Soros Foundation's Armenia branch confirms that the Soros Foundation has granted $20,000 to the Restart Educational Foundation (link: https://bit.ly/2SRtBiH). The official purpose of the grant is to encourage YSU students to participate in the university's governance. But we know what the Restart initiative is actually engaged in at YSU.

Every deceit will eventually be uncovered just as this one has been. However, I feel sorry for those students-young people who, before my eyes, transformed from patriotic and principled youth into individuals who protest for money, trading their student status for cash. At first glance, $20,000 appears to be a substantial amount, but it is not worth the price they have paid. It is not worth the price they will still have to pay. Be vigilant," his post concludes.
