Serviceman Killed in Action Grew Up in Orphanage, Recently Returned to Service
A 34-year-old contract serviceman, Mesrop Grigoryan, who was killed by gunfire at a military protection point of the RA Ministry of Defense, was from the SOS Children's Village in Kotayk province. This was reported to NEWS.am by Karen Mnatsakanyan, the administrative head of Kotayk village. He noted that the serviceman grew up in an orphanage and has a sister and a brother, but he resided in the village of Khachik in Vayots Dzor province.
It is stated that Grigoryan served in the armed forces for an extended period, later pausing his service. In October 2018, he signed a new contract and continued his service in the Armed Forces.
Earlier, we reported that today, on February 11, a serviceman, contract soldier Mesrop Rubik Grigoryan, died from gunfire at a military protection point of the RA Armed Forces. An investigation is being conducted to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
