Aram Sargsyan Decides to Support Sasun Mikayelyan: 'Joghavor'
'Joghavor' newspaper reports: 'The Yerevan City Council is set to have a new president soon. The candidate for this position will be Sasun Mikayelyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction and commander of the 'Sasun' detachment. This decision to nominate him was unanimously accepted within the Yerevan City Council.
Initially, the council aimed to elect Aram Sargsyan, the brother of Commander Vazgen Sargsyan, as the council president, and he even gave his consent. However, when the discussion turned to nominating Sasun Mikayelyan as the president of the council, Aram Sargsyan withdrew his candidacy. Yesterday, he not only defended the commander of the 'Sasun' detachment but, according to information from 'Joghavor', Aram Sargsyan intends to continue supporting Sasun Mikayelyan and will do everything possible to restore the name of the Yerevan City Council.'
