Russia Supplies Armenia with Gas at Additional Discount, Karasin
The sale of gas from Russia to Armenia is being conducted on preferential terms. This was stated by Grigory Karasin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, in an interview with RIA Novosti, claiming that the price of $165 is also lower than the market price.
“It should also be noted that no additional calculations are made by the Russian exporter for the caloric content of the gas supplied by us (the gas we provide is distinguished by high thermal value). This is, in fact, an additional commercial discount, which is due to the allied relations between our countries,” the minister stated.
According to him, Armenia receives about 2 billion cubic meters of gas annually at this price.
Karasin added that the allied relations between the two countries are extensive and are not limited solely to issues regarding the supply and price of Russian gas.
