Manvel Grigoryan Claims That Conditions in Prison Are to Blame for His Deteriorating Health, Ombudsman Says
The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan spoke today to journalists about Manvel Grigoryan's health condition.
Tatoyan noted that on February 8, a representative of the Ombudsman and a doctor visited Manvel Grigoryan at the Nairi Medical Center. During the visit, they learned that Grigoryan's blood sugar levels had risen.
"The investigation that we had, I did not even close it. Even during the appeals phase, we assumed that there was a likelihood that he would be arrested. At this point, I only know that the doctors have said they cannot determine how long Manvel Grigoryan will remain at Nairi Medical Center. He claims that his health issues are due to the conditions in prison," Tatoyan stated, adding that he is aware of the health issues and problems related to his condition but cannot disclose them due to medical confidentiality. "We will continue to keep the process under scrutiny," he said, adding that they would request further examinations if necessary.
