Defenders Nominate Sasun Mikaelyan for Union President Position

On February 11, a meeting took place at the headquarters of the Union of Volunteers with the participation of vice presidents of the Union, regional council members, heads of local divisions, members of the board, as well as several commanders of volunteer groups who stand at the roots of the defenders and are concerned about the fate of their beloved organization.

The Union's press service reports that Union member Aram Sargsyan stated that he considers his mission in the Union of Volunteers to be completed at this stage, and emphasized that the Union has a unique opportunity to unite today. He also ruled out his nomination for the position of Union leader.

Those present at the meeting unanimously decided to prepare for an extraordinary congress, nominating Sasun Mikaelyan, commander of the "Sasun" volunteer group and a member of the National Assembly, for the candidacy.

Sasun Mikaelyan also called on the attendees to unite around the organization created by Commander Vazgen Sargsyan, setting aside former disagreements. He expressed gratitude for being trusted with such a nomination.
