Extraordinary Incident: Man Hospitalized with Gunshot Wound, Suspect is School Armorer

An extraordinary incident occurred in the Shirak province.

Yesterday around 10 PM, a citizen with a gunshot wound was transferred to the Gyumri Medical Center. Police officers were dispatched to the medical center. Authorities have identified the victim as 40-year-old Taron Keropyan, a resident of Norashen village in the Aragatsotn province.

The police also determined that the injury was accidentally inflicted at his home when Arshaluis Khachatryan accidentally pressed the trigger of a double-barrel hunting shotgun. Khachatryan has been detained by the police. The police identified and confiscated the 'TOZ 63' type 16 gauge smoothbore hunting shotgun.

According to shamshyan.com, Khachatryan is the cousin of the victim and works as an armorer at the school in the Ararat village of Shirak province.
