Threats Made to Address Babayan's True Character Soon

According to the newspaper Hayastani Drakan, “Samvel Babayan’s recent statements have received a strong response in various circles of Artsakh. First, he was countered by the favorites of the 2020 presidential elections, Araik Harutyunyan and Vitaly Balasanyan. Then, he faced challenges from activists of the movement he himself pointed out: Razmik Petrosyan and Armo Tsatrayan.

The matter is that Samvel Babayan essentially accused active figures of the Artsakh liberation struggle of adhering to Serzh Sargsyan's so-called 'compromising line.' However, as the movement figures present it, Sargysan did not speak of compromises but rather discussed in detail the ongoing negotiations regarding the Artsakh issue, presenting the positions and basic approaches of the mediators and Azerbaijan, as well as the policies being implemented by Armenia.

Moreover, according to the information we have, the same figures of the movement have privately threatened to soon address Babayan’s true character, particularly reminding him of his readiness to make concessions prior to the war, a move that was prevented by field commanders.
