Super Ministries, Super Style: Report

The 'Hraparak' newspaper reports that the optimizing 'super' ministries have started working with journalists in a 'super style'. They no longer respond to verbal questions, demanding that inquiries be sent in writing, and, as stipulated by law, they only respond on the 5th day.

We had sent written questions to Minister of Education Arayik Harutyunyan. Employees of the National Institute of Education received notifications on January 22 that they would be working until March 31, stating that 'their contracts may be terminated'. What is the reason for this, and will the institute be restructured or possibly dissolved?

The Ministry's Secretary Narine Harutyunyan provided a 'comprehensive' response: 'The reduction of positions is due to the fact that in 2019, programs are planned for implementing activities on 'Content and Methodological Services of Education and Retraining of Teachers in Public Schools of the Republic', as well as 'Reforms in Initial (Vocational) and Secondary Professional Education and Training (SPET)', which will be carried out on a competitive basis, which may lead to a decrease in funding for the National Institute of Education.'

Given this reality, the council has decided to notify the staff of the National Institute of Education in writing about the reduction of positions. At the same time, we note that it is possible to respond to the sub-questions you have raised based on the results of the competition.
