Mortgage Loan Volume Exceeds Last Year's Figures by 20%: Pashinyan
In 2018, the volume of mortgage loans provided by Armenian banks surpassed last year's figures by 20%. This was reported by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
He specifically noted, "Since the revolution, banks have essentially provided as many mortgage loans as they did throughout the entire year of 2017, while banking interest rates continue to decrease.
Moreover, the pace of growth in mortgage lending is increasing, particularly under the influence of government decisions.
In the framework of the 'Housing for Youth' program, the growth in November 2018 compared to November of the previous year was 41%, in December it was a growth of 85% compared to December of the previous year, and in January 2019 compared to January 2018, the growth reached 131%.
131% means that the free, rights-bearing young citizen of the Republic of Armenia connects their future solely with their homeland."
