Pashinyan Demands Explanation for Former Officials' Concurrent Visit to Germany

According to the Hraparak newspaper, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed dissatisfaction and demanded explanations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Armenian Embassy in Germany regarding the simultaneous visit of former officials to Germany alongside his own.

It was reported that representatives from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) - Armen Ashotyann, Vigen Sargsyan, and Arpine Hovhannisyan - traveled to Germany on an inter-party visit that had not been organized at the state level, which the current government claimed prevented them from obstructing the trip.

Pashinyan's concern particularly stemmed from the fact that these former officials conveyed information about Armenia’s internal political situation to members of the Bundestag, raising issues related to human rights, freedom of the press, and various criminal cases. During meetings with Pashinyan, these representatives posed questions regarding problems that arose after the Velvet Revolution, including setbacks in democracy in certain sectors.

Notably, the ARF members returned from Germany on the same day that Pashinyan was scheduled to speak at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where they had also been invited.
