Why Are the Arrows Pointing at Me? Kostanyan. "Zhoghavor"
The "Zhoghavor" newspaper reports: Mothers of soldiers who died in peacetime have once again taken to the streets to protest, claiming that law enforcement agencies are doing nothing to uncover the crimes. Moreover, they state that former Prosecutor General of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan plays a significant role in covering up these cases.
In an interview with the "Zhoghavor" daily, Kostanyan asserted that cases that were suspended during his tenure have been reopened, and one of these cases has even resulted in a conviction of a military officer. At the same time, he made a notable remark regarding the criticisms directed at him: "You should think about why the arrows are pointing at me, as I do not understand and do not wish to assume the premise that certain individuals want to use this circumstance to discredit me. I have not been the prosecutor general for three years, so why haven't the cases been uncovered?"
He added, "I was appointed as the military prosecutor in 2011, while these cases date back 1, 5, or even 10 years prior to my appointment. I have had no unresolved cases; you draw the rest of the conclusions yourself."
