BHK Representatives Visit Artsakh Parliament

A delegation from the Prosperous Armenia party (BHK), led by the party's leader Gagik Tsarukyan, was welcomed today in the National Assembly of the Artsakh Republic. During a conversation with the leadership of the parliamentary faction, the President of the Artsakh Parliament welcomed the guests and congratulated them on their success in the recent snap parliamentary elections in Armenia. He also noted that by making their first visit to Artsakh, the faction reaffirms its willingness to maintain and develop the existing relations.

Ashot Ghulyan emphasized the importance of continuously improving cooperation between the two Armenian legislative bodies and expressed hope that collaborative efforts would expand the frameworks of parliamentary diplomacy to address issues included in the unified agenda. Gagik Tsarukyan, thanking for the hospitality, stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize newly elected deputies with their counterparts in Artsakh and to clarify the tasks ahead in solving nationwide issues.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the representation of the Artsakh issue by Armenian deputies at international platforms and ensuring the protection of the rights of the people of Artsakh under conditions of non-recognition.

Afterward, an expanded meeting was held with the participation of BHK faction deputies and Artsakh legislators. On behalf of the Artsakh parliamentarians, Chairman Ashot Ghulyan congratulated the newly elected BHK deputies once again and expressed confidence that the faction would continue to actively contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial relations. Speaking about the visit, Gagik Tsarukyan emphasized the need to move issues of pan-Armenian significance into practical realms and to intensify his faction's efforts towards the international recognition of Artsakh.

Presentations were made at the meeting by the Chair of the Permanent Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia, Naira Zohrabyan, the Chair of the Permanent Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration of the National Assembly, Mikael Melkumyan, member of the Artsakh National Assembly's Permanent Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports, Gagik Bagunts, and Deputy Chair of the Permanent Committee on State-Legal Issues of the National Assembly, Arthur Tovmasyan.
