5,000-Troop Deployment to Colombia, Afghanistan Welcomes Negotiations: Bolton's Strange Notes
The U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton has been spotted with a note that reads "5,000-troop deployment to Colombia." This was reported by the Daily Mail, which added that one of the photographs of Bolton showing the note was taken at the White House during a discussion with reporters about the crisis in Venezuela.
Bolton stated that they do not see anything that would encourage the potential deployment of troops in Colombia, which borders Venezuela. At the same time, he urged security forces to "accept a peaceful, democratic, and constitutional transfer of power," while not ruling out that U.S. troops could intervene if necessary.
Bolton's notebook was also noted for another entry: “Afghanistan welcomes negotiations.”
