Pashinyan Has Given a Shovel to Gagik Harutyunyan to Dig a Hole

According to the newspaper '168 Hours', recent media reports indicate that the relationship between Gagik Harutyunyan, the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has become tense due to the unfavorable stance of the Venice Commission.

Now, the former journalist Pashinyan has devised a new challenge for Gagik Harutyunyan, who has served under various regimes throughout history.

As is known, the anti-corruption section of the transitional justice in the electoral program of the 'My Step' alliance occupies an important place. The program specifically states that there should be an 'examination and analysis of the property status of individuals who have held high-ranking positions such as the President of the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister, Minister, Member of the National Assembly, and heads of bodies under the government, as well as the Prosecutor's Office, and publication of the results along with the application of legislative mechanisms', etc.

Practically, this means that the authorities, disregarding all legal principles, can question individuals who have held positions for the past 20 years about the origins of their property, and, if the answers are deemed unsatisfactory, confiscate it.
