Confusion During the Arrest of Ter-Hovakimyan, Who Has Ties with Former NSS Chief

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports: "In its issue dated January 24, "Zhoghovurd" disclosed that the executive director of the Armenian Youth Foundation, Alexander Ter-Hovakimyan, has faced new developments regarding criminal charges filed against him following the Velvet Revolution. He has been formally accused, and a decision was made to arrest him.

However, the RA Investigative Committee rushed to deny this report, stating that the information does not correspond to reality. But yesterday, on January 25, the same Investigative Committee officially announced that Ter-Hovakimyan has been charged under articles 179 and 190 of the RA Criminal Code, and the investigator has submitted a motion to the court for his arrest. This confirms that our information was accurate.

Meanwhile, according to our sources, the law enforcement system has been in confusion for an extended period, as Ter-Hovakimyan has close ties with former NSS head, Major General Karlos Ghazaryan, which caused delays in the decision to arrest him."
