VIDEO: Large Fire That Erupted in Lori Province Yesterday Contained This Morning
On January 24, at 18:32, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia received a call to 911 reporting a fire in a grass area near the railway in the village of Vahagnadzor, Lori Province.
Three firefighting units from the Emergency Situations Ministry's Fire and Rescue Service and an operational group from the regional rescue department were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that the fire had spread to a nearby forested area, burning approximately 6 hectares of grassland.
Nineteen firefighters are participating in the firefighting efforts, along with 15 employees from the South Caucasian Railway and 5 employees from the state non-commercial organization “Hayantar,” as well as residents of the village of Vahagnadzor.
At the scene are Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan and Director of the Rescue Service, Colonel Artak Nahapetyan.
On January 25, at 08:00, a rescue unit from the Special Rescue Operations Center of the Emergency Situations Ministry was sent to the site.
By 09:30, the fire had been contained.
