This information was provided in response to a written inquiry by Tert.am from the Public Relations and Media Department of the Police of Armenia. The Police stated that the sources, amounts, and procedures for the remuneration of individuals holding state service positions, including those in the Police system, are established by Article 22 of the Law on the Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions. A police officer is awarded for special tasks and the performance of quality work based on their official salary rate, which can be up to one month.
These police officers are rewarded from the saved resources of the salary fund and from the material incentives and development fund of the respective body, not exceeding three times a year from any other sources not prohibited by law.
The Police have stated that the calculation coefficients for the base official salary rates of civilian staff and technical maintenance personnel are approved by the Government of Armenia under decision No. 737-N dated July 3, 2014, appendices 1 and 2.
By order of the Police Chief, police officers (employees) are awarded for special tasks and/or quality work performed (except for those already awarded three times, those with penalties, those registered in personnel reserves, those whose powers are temporarily suspended, etc.) with one official salary rate.
For this purpose, 1 billion 834 million AMD was spent, including 1 million AMD allocated from the saved resources of the extra-budgetary fund of the Road Police under the Government of Armenia's decision No. 1432-N dated December 18, 2018.
