Has Gevorg Kostanyan Disclosed the Largest Bribery Case in the Republic?

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports: "On October 24, 2018, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in the National Assembly that a member of parliament would soon be arrested in connection with a large bribery case. 'This is the largest bribery case in the history of the Third Republic, which will lead to other high-ranking officials as well.'"

Later, "Zhoghovurd" clarified that the person in question is the former Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan, who has not yet been detained and had managed to evade investigation. It turns out that the largest bribery case in the history of the Third Republic was initiated back in 2015 by former Chief Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan; however, it had been suspended.

According to sources from "Zhoghovurd", another episode involving Aram Harutyunyan has also led to criminal proceedings, due to characteristics of releasing 2-3 times more water than allowed from Lake Sevan. However, currently, the case is only being examined in relation to bribery. We hope that an investigation into the Sevan matter will also be conducted."

Details can be found in today's edition of the newspaper.
