Director of St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center Closes Buffets on Hospital Grounds

The director of Yerevan's St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center, Arman Hovakimyan, has been engaged not only in dismissing former staff but also in shutting down the buffets operating on the facility's grounds.

Garik Gandevosyan, a former employee of the medical center, shared with the newspaper "Zhoghovurd" that after Hovakimyan was appointed as director, he closed the buffets of the hospital and the maternity ward. Now, the turn has come for the clinic's buffet, primarily utilized by students.

According to Gandevosyan, it concerns an area of about 20 square meters, which he rented for 25,000 drams per month. However, the new director recently summoned him and warned that the rent would be increased tenfold to 250,000 drams. "It is impossible to pay 250,000 drams for such a small space, especially when the daily sales are only around 5,000 to 6,000 drams," he said.

Petros Manukyan, responsible for media relations at the hospital, confirmed the closure of the buffet in our conversation, stating: "Given the building conditions, this area will be used for other purposes," the newspaper reports.
