Use of Child Safety Seats Mandatory for Transporting Children Under 12
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia has introduced a draft law regarding road traffic safety, which stipulates that the use of child restraint systems (child safety seats) is mandatory for transporting children under the age of 12.
It is noted that the transport of children under the age of 7 in light passenger vehicles and the cabins of cargo vehicles, which are equipped with safety belts or safety belts and child restraint systems, must be carried out using child restraint systems that correspond to the child's weight and height. Separate criteria are also established for the transportation of children aged 7 to 12. It is prohibited to transport children under 12 on the back seat of a motorcycle and in the cargo area of a truck (except for vans with cargo bodies).
