Stabbing of 20-Year-Old Girl in Masis: Details
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has launched a criminal case regarding the intentional infliction of serious bodily harm in Masis, Ararat region, according to the Committee's press service.
According to preliminary data, on January 21, 2019, at 4:55 AM, the police received a report from the Masis Medical Center that a 20-year-old woman from Masis, born in 1998, had been admitted with a diagnosis of “stab-wound in the left groin area, internal bleeding.”
A criminal case has been initiated at the Masis Investigative Department based on the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code.
During the investigation, it was revealed that during a dispute at the end of Heratsi Street in Masis, a 20-year-old resident of Yerevan stabbed a peer, causing her serious bodily harm.
On January 21, 2019, the individual suspected of committing the crime was identified and provided a self-incriminating confession.
As a measure of restraint, a signature not to leave was chosen for the suspect.
A black folding knife, which was used as the weapon, was found at the crime scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
