Arsen Torosyan: 'We Understand the Need to Close Schools and Kindergartens, But There Is No Need for That Right Now'
The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, provided information about acute respiratory diseases through a Facebook live stream. He noted that all necessary measures are being taken to stabilize the situation.
Torosyan mentioned that on the past Monday, 2,065 people visited polyclinics, while today the number is 1,748.
"We are not only monitoring the numbers but also visiting hospitals, and the 'filter' is operational in schools. Today, 682 children have been sent home to prevent infecting healthier peers. When I mention a 2.5 percent absenteeism rate, I am referring to sick children. We fully understand the timing for closing schools and kindergartens, and we would never hesitate to do so, but currently, there is no need for that," the minister concluded.
