Tight Security Imposed by NSS at Government Building: What is the Reason?
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, security has been significantly tightened at the Government of Armenia. The reason for this increased security is the incident that occurred on October 27, 2018. As is known, a former combatant attempted to enter the Government building armed with a grenade in order to attract attention and ask for employment. However, NSS employees managed to thwart his actions.
Following this incident, security measures at the Government building have been further intensified. Specifically, during the Government session yesterday, our correspondent noticed that NSS employees now close the entrance door from the inside after each entry, which had not been the case before; previously, they only armed themselves to monitor the entrance.
When a citizen approaches the door, security personnel inquire about their purpose and who they are visiting, and then make a decision whether to open the door or not. The aim is to prevent unauthorized individuals from easily accessing the building.
