Arrests in Martakert

Information has been disseminated through the official website and Facebook page of the Artsakh police regarding an altercation and arrests that occurred in Martakert city around 01:00 on January 11.

According to the Artsakh police, a resident of Martakert city, born in 1984, identified as B.M., has been charged as a suspect under part 4 of Article 269 of the Artsakh Criminal Code for committing hooliganism with qualifying characteristics through the use of a weapon or an object used as a weapon, involving violence against a person or the threat of such violence. He is also charged under part 1 of Article 245 of the Artsakh Criminal Code for illegally acquiring, selling, possessing, transporting, or carrying weapons, military ammunition, explosives, or explosive devices.

Additionally, a resident of the Martakert region, born in 1986, identified as A.B., has also been charged as a suspect under part 1 of Article 111 of the Artsakh Criminal Code for intentionally causing serious harm to health, and under part 1 of Article 245 for the same illegal activities concerning weapons and explosives.

The Artsakh first instance court has granted the investigator's request to choose detention as a measure to secure B.M. and A.B.
