Military Serviceman Charged with Violating Firearm Handling Rules

On December 13, 2018, around 10:30 AM, during the performance of observer duties at the N military unit's security post, a conscript serviceman, Private A. Hakobyan, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen under unclear circumstances. Following an investigation by the RA Investigative Committee’s Third Garrison Investigative Department, it was revealed that the injury was inflicted by a fellow serviceman, Private H. M., as a result of violating firearm handling rules.

Based on the sufficiency of evidence, H. M. has been charged under Article 373, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, and a precautionary measure has been imposed, placing him under the control of the military unit's command.
