One of the Participants in the Incident Involving the Bus Transporting New Recruits Arrested
On January 8, one of the attackers on the bus transporting new recruits, 39-year-old Gor Hakobyan, was arrested. This was reported by Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, on his Facebook page.
Abrahamyan noted that the criminal case initiated yesterday at the RA Ministry of Defense Military Police has been sent to the Investigative Committee of Armenia for further investigation.
The post specifically states:
"One of the apparent direct participants in the incident involving the bus transporting new recruits has been arrested.
It has already been reported that the day before, a military bus with a state license plate, transporting recruits from the Nairi division of the Kotayk military commissariat to the central gathering station of the Ministry of Defense, was stopped by a group of individuals, violating public order intentionally and grossly, exhibiting blatant disrespect towards society, resulting in an incident. A criminal case has been opened at the Military Police under Article 258, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
The criminal case has been sent to the Investigative Committee of Armenia for further investigation under the supervision of a prosecutor responsible for ensuring the legality of the pre-trial proceedings.
During the pre-trial investigation, under proper prosecutorial supervision, necessary investigative and procedural actions are being carried out, and operational-search measures have been taken. As a result, one of the direct participants in the incident, G.H., has been arrested.
The investigation continues to fully identify the other participants, assess their actions legally, and clarify all circumstances related to the incident.
Note: A suspected or accused individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law on criminal procedure, by a court verdict that has entered into legal force."
It should be reminded that yesterday, a group of young people stopped the bus transporting recruits, entered it, and began to tussle while using indecent expressions.
