Vahagn Harutyunyan to be Arrested

The General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan has granted the pre-trial body's request to arrest Vahagn Harutyunyan, the former head of the investigative group for the March 1 case. In an interview with SHANTNEWS.am, spokesperson for the Special Investigative Service Marina Ohanyan stated that the court has made a decision to arrest Harutyunyan.

It is noted that Vahagn Harutyunyan, the former head of the March 1 investigative group, has been charged with falsifying evidence. The Special Investigative Service had requested his arrest. As of December 26, the charges against him have been expanded, and Harutyunyan is also accused of abusing official authority causing serious consequences through negligence, as well as exceeding his official authority with violence, under parts 2 of Article 308 and part 2 of Article 309 of the RA Criminal Code.
