Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs Urges Narek Gururyan to Surrender Voluntarily

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs has addressed the statement of a young Armenian man wanted after the incident in Karaganda.

The statement particularly notes:

“Just two days ago, all our partners’ contact details were provided to his relatives. However, until now, no one has established contact with them. The ministry guarantees an objective and comprehensive investigation of the case.”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has called on Narek Gururyan, who is wanted, to surrender voluntarily to law enforcement officials to avoid aggravating circumstances.

It should be noted that on New Year's Eve, Narek Gururyan, who is now on nationwide wanted list, had previously sent a video message as one of the participants in the altercation in Karaganda. In the video message, Narek Hovhannes Gururyan introduced himself and stated, “I want to say that I did not kill anyone. On that unfortunate night, I participated in a mass brawl at the 'Old Rome' restaurant, but I did not kill anyone. I am ready to answer for my actions, but I will not take the blame for someone else. I am not a murderer.”

It is recalled that on New Year's Eve, a brawl occurred among a group of men in an intoxicated state near the 'Old Rome' restaurant in the city of Karaganda, resulting in one person dying from a knife injury and three others being injured.

After the incident, three people were arrested for two months, and a search was announced for Narek Gururyan.
