Severe Blizzard and Lack of Visibility: Vardenyats Pass Closed

The Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia informs that as of December 28, at 17:00, it is snowing on the roads of Sisian, Yeghegnadzor, Aparan, Vayk, Goris, and Aragats regions, as well as in the Vardenyats Pass.

The press service of the ministry reports that there is black ice on the roads of Sisian and Artik regions and in the Vardenyats Pass. Blizzards are occurring on the roads of Aparan.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed due to severe blizzards and lack of visibility.

Road construction teams are performing cleaning operations and applying salt and sand on the roads.

Other inter-state and republican roads are open.
