The Mayor of Ejmiadzin Criticizes 'Full House' TV Series

The Mayor of Ejmiadzin, Diana Gasparyan, has criticized the TV series 'Full House' on her Facebook page, stating that the show propagates clear gender discrimination.

Below is the full text of her post:

“I accidentally came across a new season of the 'Full House' TV series on the air of the new 'Armenia' television company and, to put it mildly, I was displeased. The character Mushegh, who sees himself as a strong man, spins a tale on his wife's head, outright accusing her, igniting a conflict, a war against everyone simply because she had a baby girl, while he, you see, wanted a boy. He literally says, 'What a Queen (the baby's name is supposedly Queen), only a king should have been born from me.' And everyone justifies him, the woman is crying. It's a disgraceful situation.

I am simply astonished that such things are aired, especially since many Armenian families watch these series and form value systems based on them. This is a clear phenomenon promoting gender discrimination that should be banned. And then we also fight against selective abortions.

It remains to at least ask parents to keep their children away from watching such disgraceful television projects.”
