Serzh Sargsyan Resigns as Chairman of Yerevan State University Board

Serzh Sargsyan is no longer the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yerevan State University. He has voluntarily resigned from this position.

This was announced to Haykakan Zhamanak by the Public Relations and Media Department of YSU.

The Board of Trustees of YSU is the highest governing body of the university, with a term of authority lasting five years. This board elects the rector, discusses and approves the structure, budget, staff list, strategic development program, rector election regulations, the rector's annual report, amendments to the charter, and more.

The Board consists of representatives from the university's academic staff and students, as well as recognized representatives from various fields of education, science, culture, and economics proposed by the authoritative body, and partner employers of YSU, with a proportion of 25% each. The composition of the Board is confirmed by the Prime Minister of Armenia based on the nominations submitted.
