Vladimir Gasparyan Has Resided, Resides, and Will Reside in Armenia: Lawyer's Statement

“Vladimir Gasparyan is solely a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, has resided, resides, and will continue to reside in Armenia. He is a high-ranking officer who has always served and will serve his homeland,”

This was stated by Tigran Atanesyan, the lawyer of former police chief Vladimir Gasparyan, on his Facebook page.

Specifically, the statement mentions:

“On behalf of the former head of the police of the Republic of Armenia, retired lieutenant general Vladimir Gasparyan, I am authorized to announce the following: today, a number of news websites have disseminated yet another false information asserting that Mr. Gasparyan intends to acquire citizenship of other countries.

Vladimir Gasparyan is solely a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, has resided, resides, and will continue to reside in Armenia. He is a high-ranking officer who has always served and will serve his homeland.

It is advised that the websites spreading this ridiculous misinformation improve their low ratings not by misusing the name of an esteemed high-ranking officer, but by finally engaging in professional journalistic activities. For instance, at least verify the baseless information being circulated with the relevant authorities or, as in this case, diplomatic establishments.

Mr. Gasparyan will henceforth pursue legal action against those spreading false and defamatory information regarding his name.
