VIDEO: Footage of Fallen Pilots' Flight One Day Prior Released

The spokesperson for the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, has released video footage of the flight performed one day prior by the pilots of the SU-25 aircraft that crashed near the village of Karaberd in the Maralik region of Shirak Province on December 4.

“The guys conducted a training flight and live-fire exercise exactly one day prior. They performed at a very high level and with excellent ratings. This footage is real from the day before. Glory to the Armenian Army, glory to the Armenian Air Force,” Hovhannisyan wrote.

It is worth noting that the aviation accident occurred on December 4 at 10:06 AM, shortly after taking off from the Gyumri airport. Communication with the aircraft was lost around 10:20 AM. There were two pilots on board: First-class pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Slavik Babayan, and Third-class pilot, Major Movses Gevorgi Manukyan.

The aircraft departed on its flight route on December 4.

A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident. The investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
