Vice President of 'Armenian Eagles. Unified Armenia' Party Declares Hunger Strike at NSS

The Vice President of the 'Armenian Eagles. Unified Armenia' party, Mher Yeghiazaryan, who was arrested the previous day, has declared a hunger strike at the National Security Service (NSS).

In a statement regarding this matter, he noted:

“Due to a lack of trust in the course of the criminal investigation launched against me and in order to delay the examination, I refuse to continue participating in this process. Therefore, I announce:

• As of December 5, at 9:00 AM, I declare a hunger strike in the cell at the NSS.
• I appeal to the office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia requesting a meeting with the defender.
• I will participate in the court hearing regarding this case.
• I request permission to quickly disseminate this statement.”

It is worth noting that Mher Yeghiazaryan was arrested yesterday, and a criminal case was initiated by the investigative department of the NSS on allegations of bribery related to a substantial fraud case.
