Attack on Gagik Hambaryan

Gagik Hambaryan, a political scientist and lecturer at the Shiraz State University in Gyumri, reported that he was attacked the day before.

Hambaryan made this announcement in a Facebook post, where he stated:

"Statement on the crime
On December 4, around 09:30, at the intersection of Victory Avenue and Mayakovsky Street in Gyumri, near the 'Stop' shop, I was attacked by Rafik Hovhannisyan, the brother of Anahit Hovhannisyan, the head of the English Language and Literature Department at Shiraz State University and a prominent representative of Sahak Minasian’s fan club. He assaulted me unexpectedly, in front of many people in this busy area, directing obscene insults at me and my family members, and physically harmed me.

I have filed a statement regarding this hooliganism and the physical injuries I sustained at the 'Kumayri' police station in Gyumri.

Let me remind you that Anahit Hovhannisyan, who was publicly called a '12-point lunatic' by her idol Sahak Minasian in front of many people, had no issues with me or H. Khorikyan but willingly became an accomplice of the former rector of the university, joining the infamous Ethics Committee created illegally by him.

I would also like to add that Anahit Hovhannisyan has repeatedly boasted to university staff that her brother Rafik Hovhannisyan carries a knife in our neighborhood with the intention of killing me. I have always taken those statements humorously, but Anahit Hovhannisyan is correct that her brother is a potential criminal, as evidenced by his hooligan act against me on December 4."
