Luka Modrić Wins the Ballon d'Or

The winner of this year's Ballon d'Or is Luka Modrić, the midfielder of the Croatian national team and Real Madrid. This marks the first time a Croatian player has received the 63rd award.

In a historic moment, the Ballon d'Or was also awarded to a female football player for the first time; 23-year-old Ada Hegerberg from Lyon received the prize.

The Best Young Player award went to Kylian Mbappé, the forward of PSG and the French national team.
